Laser Skin
Rejuvination
Sitemap General Information Dr. Sheta uses
the Syneron series of Lasers for Wrinkle Reduction, Skin Rejuvenation, Age Spots, Sun
Damage and Tiny Blood Vessel Spots. It is safe, very effective and treatments
take only a few minutes. Before we discuss all methods available to you,
let's look at our own skin. Overview
(The Human Skin)

Skin
goes through many changes as we get older. Cells divide slower. The dermis,
or lower layer of skin, gets thinner. It is comprised of several different types
of tissue, including elastin and collagen. Elastin gives the skin
its elasticity, and collagen keeps the skin taut. Eventually both of these
proteins begin to break down, causing the skin to loosen. The loss of elasticity
makes the skin and underlying tissue more susceptible to the effects of gravity.
Instead of springing back when pulled, the skin sags. Additionally, the muscle
and tissue composition under the skin changes, leading to wrinkles.
Lasers and Cosmetic Surgery The Laser Machines We Use
When
choosing an appropriate laser technology for all of our clinic procedures, no
costs were spared when we chose Syneron technologies. With a customer base
of more than 6,000 systems in 50 countries, Syneron is recognized as a worldwide
technology leader in the medical aesthetics market.
Syneron is now setting new industry standards for safety and efficacy for a
wide range of medical-aesthetic procedures. Founded in 2000, Syneron has
attained an unparalleled position in the aesthetics industry through science,
synergy, and success.
Lasers are the
scientific answer to the pleas of men and women everywhere who shy away from
invasive surgery and who do not have the time to be recovering for extended
periods of time from an extensive surgery. As a matter of fact, so much can
nowadays be accomplished with a laser that it almost appears to be the new
cosmetic surgery method of choice.
What lasers can do for cosmetic
surgery is truly an amazing feat in the progress of medicine and science.
Thus, if you are ready to perhaps start off the New Year with some
self-improvement, or perhaps you would simply like to give yourself the gift of
looking as young as you actually feel, the laser could be the answer to your
questions.
Consider the
use of laser technology
in modern wrinkle reduction procedures. Whether it is your habit to frequently
frown, natural aging, or simply homage to your sun worshipping days, wrinkles
are a result of many factors that leave the skin less elastic and more prone to
lines. While this method is not indicated for deep lines and wrinkles, fine
lines, acne scars, and even stretch marks may be visibly decreased by the use of
laser wrinkle reduction. An added benefit is the fact that there is no lengthy
recovery time patients must undergo, but instead this treatment can neatly fit
into the time allotted for most lunch breaks! The methodology is quite
ingenious: the laser energy is transmitted to the dermal skin tissue, bypassing
the outer layers of skin without causing any damage. The energy so transmitted
will then begin a chain reaction within the skin that causes it to rebuild
collagen and thus smooth out any wrinkles and lines.

Although not
necessarily considered cosmetic surgery, the laser has also found its use in the
field of hair removal.
As a matter of fact, laser hair removal is the answer to all those who are
disgusted with heating up wax, plucking and tweezing. The process simply
destroys the hair follicle so no hair will ever grow from it again.
Unfortunately, not everyone is a good candidate for this type of treatment.
Since laser energy is nothing more than light based, those who have salt and
pepper hair, or perhaps even white hair, will find that they will not be able to
be successfully treated. The same is true for dark skinned patients.
Probably the
most celebrated use of laser energy in the field of cosmetic surgery is the
removal of spider veins.
You have probably noticed the purple or deep red little lines that seem to
cluster in certain areas of your physique, usually the arms or legs, sometimes
even the face and back. These veins are not of vital necessity for the body, and
are more or less a cosmetic nuisance. It is no surprise that many who have found
them on their bodies would like to be rid of them once and for all. This may be
accomplished with the help of laser treatments. The laser energy enters the skin
and directly damages the unsightly veins. Serving no purpose, they eventually
collapse and disintegrate.

Wrinkle Reduction & Laser Skin Rejuvenation
The Syneron series of Lasers will bring back the youthful appearance of your
skin.

Collagen is basically a support network for your skin. As we age our
collagen breaks down, causing lines and wrinkles. Our Laser stimulates collagen production, which decreases lines and wrinkles. The
procedure doesn't remove any skin, so the treatment is fast and you can
immediately return to your normal activities. It works on all skin types and can
be used on the face, hands, neck and chest. Best of all, there is almost no
discomfort Ð most people describe the treatment as a tingling sensation.
Laser skin rejuvenation is a process that should be repeated 4-6 times about 3-5
weeks apart for the best results. Dr. Sheta will consult with you and offer a
treatment program that is best for your situation. Let Dr. Sheta help you regain
your youthful good looks! We offer free consultations in the greater Las
Vegas area.
Aftercare Instructions Wrinkle & Skin Rejuvenation
No specific care is needed after treatment, although you may be asked to avoid
sun and some skin products for a period of time after the treatment. It is
important to follow your physician's instructions exactly.

Age Spots
Dr. Sheta is proud to use the Syneron series of Lasers, one of the most technologically
advanced lasers for removing age spots, sun spots, birthmarks, freckles and
other skin discolorations. Melanin is what gives our skin its color. The amount
of melanin in your skin determines if you have a light or dark complexion. Most
skin spots are dark in color simply because the melanin is abnormally
concentrated in one area. High concentrations of melanin can be due to various
factors. Some types are present at birth, but most occur with age, or as a
result of overexposure to the sun's damaging ultraviolet rays.
Our Laser is specifically designed to effectively target the dark
concentrations of melanin while leaving your normal skin's pigmentation
unaffected. The unwanted pigment is destroyed after absorbing the laser light.
It is not a painful procedure - the impact of the energy from the light pulses
is similar to the snap of a thin rubber band. After the treatment, the area will
feel similar to light sunburn. Typically any discomfort will disappear within a
day or so. Usually one or two treatments are all that is required.
